Boating Lake Powell

Boating things to know (especially at lower lake levels):

If you fish or just want to review forum posts, your best resource for the latest info is www.WaynesWords.com

You can follow water levels and ramp open/closed info on https://lakepowell.water-data.com/

Scroll to the bottom of the page for ramp info. As the lower lake levels hit, Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp closes. That necissitates either paying for the Antelope Point Valet Launch (paid)

You can have them launch the boat with just one or two people and go back to pick up your group at the marina, or you can launch the entire party and go from there.

If you choose to launch at Waheap/Stateline/Stateline Auxiliary:

Plan for about an hour boat ride over to the Antelope Marina. You can launch the day before you lake adventure and rent an overnight slip at Antelope- the back slips with power and water require reservations, the front slips with no service are first come, first served.

Pay attention on each ramp to not just the depth remaining, but the length of the ramp remaining. We've seen trailers drop their wheels off the end as the usable ramp area shrinks,

Notice that on Stateline Auxiliary, the ramp is often not perpendicular to the shore, but the docks usually are. This means the edge of the ramp and the dock can have a gap- track the line on the ramp not the line of the dock to avoid wheels off the side if you are launching on an edge lane.
